The 25 BEST Mashed Potatoes
This collection of easy Mashed Potato Recipes is a must for all of your holiday celebrations, or just whenever you're craving comfort food. For starters, here is a recipe for basic mashed potatoes:
Ingredients
- 2 pounds baking potatoes, peeled and quartered
- 2 Tbsp butter, melted
- 1/2 cup milk, warmed
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Peel the potatoes and cut them into same size pieces and place them in a large pot full of cold water.
- Bring to a boil and cook until the potatoes are fork tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- Drain the potatoes and mash them with a hand masher or electric beater. Add in warm milk a little at a time, along with melted butter. Continue mashing until smooth.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
