    Air Fryer Salmon Bites

My Air Fryer Salmon Bites are the perfect combination of easy, healthy and completely delicious. With a simple homemade blackening seasoning and a touch of honey to balance things out, it’s one of my favorite ways to eat salmon.

    Ingredients Needed

    • Salmon – I always recommend fresh rather than frozen. Cut it into bite sized chunks.
    • Olive oil – Or any other neutral flavored oil of your choice.
    • Honey – For a hint of sweetness.
    • Homemade blackening seasoning – Paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, thyme, cayenne, salt and pepper.

    Air Fryer Salmon Bites Recipe

This is about as simple as it gets. While I have my air fryer preheating to 400°F, I mix together the blackening seasoning and toss it with the olive oil and honey in a large bowl. Then I add in the salmon bites and toss them well until they are well coated all over.

Once the air fryer is heated up, I add the salmon bites to the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for 6-8 minutes, until the salmon flakes easily with a fork. Depending on the size of the air fryer, you may need to work in batches (it takes two batches in mine).

That’s it, they’re ready to eat!

    Serving Suggestions

I usually serve these bites with a grain like our Lemon Rice, Dirty Rice or Quinoa Salad, along with a vegetable and some sweet component like Pineapple Salsa or Mango Salsa.

That being said, they quite versatile and go with a variety of other sides like Grits or Macaroni Salad, and even go great in tacos.

    Cook Time: 8 minutes
    Total Time: 18 minutes

My quick and easy Air Fryer Salmon Bites with homemade blackening seasoning are a great weeknight dinner, ready in under 20 minutes.

    Ingredients

    • 1.5 pounds salmon, skin removed, cut into bite-sized chunks
    • 1 Tbsp olive oil
    • 1 Tbsp honey
    • 1 Tbsp paprika
    • 1 tsp onion powder
    • 1 tsp garlic powder
    • 1 tsp dried thyme
    • ½ tsp cayenne pepper
    • ½ tsp salt
    • ½ tsp black pepper

    Instructions

    1. Preheat air fryer to 400°F.
    2. In a large bowl, mix together olive oil, honey and spices. Add in salmon bites and toss well until salmon is well coated all over.
    3. Add the salmon bites to the air fryer basket in a single layer. You may need to work in batches depending on the size of your air fryer. Cook for 6-8 minutes, until salmon flakes easily with a fork.
    4. Serve immediately.

    Notes

    1. According to the FDA, salmon is safe to eat at 145°F. We prefer it at 125-130°F.
    2. We like these bites with rice, a vegetable and a sweet component. Today we used avocado and mango. Other good veggie pairings are edamame, broccoli and asparagus. If mangoes aren't in season, pineapple is another great choice.
    3. Leftovers can be refrigerated in an airtight container or zip-top bag for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer or microwave until warmed through.
