If you ask me “What is Gigi Hadid Pasta?” Simple… Pasta made by Gigi Hadid, which broke the internet when it went viral on Instagram and TikTok.
Look closely, and you will be equally as amazed as me. It’s the same delicious creamy and cheesy pasta alla vodka, with a slight makeover – it gets pleasantly spiked with heat from red chili flakes.
I love pasta, I love vodka and I love spicy. So here we go… Gigi Hadid Pasta for dinner tonight.
This restaurant quality meal is so delicious that you will be eating the sauce as it cooks, before even adding the pasta. It’s that good.
This one is a nice welcome when taking a break from meat and going meatless for a night. But then again, I can see some kind of protein going so, so good in this pasta.
What is this Viral Recipe?
Honestly, I didn’t know who Gigi Hadid was before I come face to face with this creamy vodka pasta. Apparently, she turns out to be a model who loves to cook.
A few months back, she cooked this vodka pasta and posted a recipe on an Instagram story and people all over the internet can’t stop talking how good this twist on traditional Pasta alla Vodka is.
Vodka sauce in itself is so delicious. It’s rich, creamy, tomatoee… Now imagine it gets a tad bit of spicy kick. It’s just too much to handle, you keep on eating till you lick off the last of that yummy sauce.
You can make this with vodka like the original recipe for vodka sauce, or go sans vodka like Gigi (she didn’t use it in hers, but I highly recommend using it if you have some).
This pasta happens fast. In 30 minutes dinner is ready and will be loved by the whole family. I say it definitely lives up to the hype.
Ingredients Needed
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil – I love EVOO for depth of flavor in any sauce.
- Shallots or Onion – Shallots are just a fancier version of onions, so use any available.
- Garlic – By now you know my love of garlic.
- Tomato Paste – If you want the concentrated flavor of tomato, this is must.
- Vodka – The ethanol in the vodka acts as an emulsifier, allowing everything to combine together nicely.
- Heavy Cream – This is what makes the sauce irresistibly creamy and luscious. No substitutes can truly replicate its richness.
- Red Chili Flakes – Adjust to your heat tolerance. I love it spicy.
- Parmesan Cheese – Use freshly grated parmesan. Trust me, it’s a game-changer!
- Butter – I know its more calories, but so worth it here.
- Pasta – I am using orecchiette today. You can use any short pasta shape that’s good at holding sauce. Think rigatoni, orecchiette, penne pasta, bow ties or even macaroni. Some days, to make it heartier, you can use ravioli or tortellini.
- Fresh Parsley – For garnish.
How to Make Gigi Hadid Pasta
1. Cook the pasta: I start by boiling the pasta in salted water (I use one teaspoon of salt) in a large pot. I cook the pasta according to the package instructions until it’s al dente.
2. Sauté the aromatics: While the pasta is cooking, I heat some olive oil in a large skillet and sauté chopped shallots or onions for about 10 minutes until they’re nicely translucent and start to brown. Then, I add in the garlic and sauté it for a minute.
3. Create the sauce: Next, I add in the tomato paste and cook it for 5 minutes. Then, I stir in the vodka and let it cook for another 2-3 minutes. After that, I add in the cream along with some chili flakes and stir everything until it turns into a smooth, creamy sauce. To finish, I season it with salt and pepper and mix in some Parmesan cheese until everything is well combined.
4. Finish the dish: I pour in some pasta water and give it a good mix. By this time, I bet you’re tasting your spicy vodka pasta sauce like crazy, it’s so good. Then, I stir in the cooked pasta along with some butter and mix everything well to combine.
5. Serve: Now all that remains is to dish it out and garnish it with some parsley and dash of red chili flakes if you desire more heat.
That’s it… There you go… your NEW favorite pasta from now on!!
Alpana’s Tips
- Do not forget to reserve about a cup of the pasta water while it’s cooking. It adds great flavor, and a necessary starchy component to the dish. This pasta water also helps if your creamy vodka sauce becomes too thick after adding the pasta. You can adjust the consistency of the sauce by adding this reserved pasta water.
- Keep stirring the tomato paste frequently during its cooking time to prevent it from sticking to the pan and burning.
- I always use freshly grated parmesan cheese. Pre shredded contains additives that prevent it from melting properly.
- Make it just as spicy as you like it. Add chili flakes little at a time. Taste and adjust accordingly.
- Taste and adjust. Before serving, taste the sauce and adjust seasonings as necessary.
Serving Suggestions
It goes great with a side salad such as our Avocado Tomato Pesto Salad, or with veggies such as Green Beans Almondine or Grilled Zucchini.
You can also serve it as a mac and cheese like side, along with Baked Pork Chops, Grilled Chicken or BBQ Ribs.
Some Variations
- Add in some protein. I cooked this with precooked chicken the other day. It was delicious. You can also use sautéed chicken, shrimp, scallops or sausage.
- I like to play with the cheese. Try asiago, burrata, romano or provolone for a little flavor variation.
- You can add in some veggies like bell peppers, mushrooms, peas or asparagus to bulk it up.
- Not into spicy? Try our traditional Vodka Sauce.
SO, Are you going to try this tonight? You must get on this newest pasta trend. Once you try it, you’ll see why it went viral on social media…

Saving this to make over and over and over. I started with Pancetta, took it out when I added the garlic. Skipped onions but bused onion powder. It was amazing, so good, but was not expecting it to be as rich a sit was. Definitely a small plate.
This recipe is so good! I added in some cooked shrimp, the whole family loved it.
It’s great with shrimp, we’ve done that too!
5 stars, thanks for another great recipe!
Thank you for following along!
I didn’t have any tomato paste so used your substitution for regular tomatoes. It turned out great, we’ll definitely be making this again.
Cheers, Kim!
OMG this was so good! I think my husband loves me more now LOL
Thanks Jessica, glad you both liked it!
