    20 BEST Sauces for Gnocchi

    This collection of Sauces for Gnocchi has something to please every palate, including classics like bolognese and pesto.

    Ingredients

    • 1 tbsp olive oil
    • 2 cups diced ham, diced into 1/2 inch cubes
    • 1 cup frozen peas
    • 16 oz gnocchi
    • 1/2 cup heavy cream
    • 1.5 cups water
    • 1 tsp dried thyme
    • 1/4 cup fresh basil, cut into strips
    • salt and pepper to taste
    • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
    • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

    Instructions

    1. Preheat the broiler on your oven.
    2. Heat oil in an oven safe skillet over medium high heat. Add in diced ham and sauté, turning from time to time, until it start to caramelize, about 5 minutes.
    3. Add peas, gnocchi, water, cream and herbs. Simmer until gnocchi is tender, about 5 minutes.
    4. Taste and add salt and pepper to taste (the ham adds a lot of salt, so you might not need any additional).
    5. Sprinkle shredded cheeses atop the gnocchi mixture. Broil until cheese is melty and starting to turn golden brown. This time will vary depending on the strength of your broiler, check on it after 2 minutes.
