I really love Greek Food! I cook a lot of Mediterranean-style dishes in my kitchen and somehow always get drawn towards Greek cuisine. These light and delicious dishes have plenty of fresh ingredients and a generous dousing of good quality olive oil.
Over the years, I have gone beyond gyros and moussaka and cooked great Greek flavors like Fasolakia, Kleftiko, and Pastitsio. There are so many great new dishes out there and that’s why I have compiled this list of amazing Greek Recipes for you to try.
So whatever your appetite, whatever the time of day, you’re sure to find just the right dish here. Cook your way through them, and oh, don’t forget to read about my favorite Shrimp Saganaki!

The Best Greek Recipes:
1. Shrimp Saganaki (Greek Shrimp with Tomatoes & Feta)
I am starting this list of Greek Recipes with our own favorite Shrimp Saganaki, a classic Greek appetizer that’s served in most Greek Restaurants.
Some incredible flavor combo happens when you cook plump shrimp in a garlicky savory tomato sauce and finish it off with salty feta.
2. Chicken Souvlaki
I love to cook these Greek-style kebabs for our get-togethers, as they are so easy. Chicken Souvlaki – sometimes, all you need is a few simple ingredients to create some amazing flavors. These Greek skewers are one of those recipes.
Bite sized chunks of chicken are marinated with lemon juice, oregano and garlic and can be grilled, baked or cooked on the stovetop.

This is a hearty Greek dish that will please even the pickiest eaters.
4. Fasolakia
Fasolakia is by far my favorite when it comes to cooking green beans. Greek green beans, properly known as fasolakia, make a tasty dish out of fresh green beans braised in extra virgin olive oil, tomatoes, and herbs.
It works great as a main course, or as a side dish to accompany something else.
5. Kleftiko (Greek Lamb Cooked in Parchment)
I save this one for special occasions. Greek Kleftiko is a boldly marinated lamb roast that cooks low and slow for hours, sealed in parchment paper for ultimate moisture and tenderness.

Fasolada… The “mother of all” Greek comfort foods in a bowl. This is one bowl that generations of Greeks grew up with on cool winter nights… A perfect winter warmer!

7. Tzatziki
Tzatziki is my go-to Greek yogurt and cucumber sauce, and it’s the most important condiment in my kitchen.
